Music Spotlight: Garrix & Bebe Rexha - "Name of Love"

MARTIN GARRIX & BEBE REXHA - "NAME OF LOVE"

Ever since I heard Martin Garrix drop this new track during his Ultra Miami 2016 set, I knew this was going to be a hit and a sound that was special.

Immediate attention needs to be brought to the wonderful lady in this tune, Bebe Rexha. She rocks some beautiful vocals through this track that tie in with the drop (which are likely her distorted vocals) beautifully and make it all come together. She has quickly become a key piece in collaborations and her solo music is also heightening in popularity. I don't even want to call her an "Up and Comer" as I feel she has already surpassed that.

Now back to the skinny on this track...

Garrix and Bebe Rexha have finally dropped their collaborative "future house" (there are too many sub-genres in electronic music, I don't know what this is anymore) track "Name of Love" and it's exactly what I had hoped for. Bebe's beautiful vocals on top of a beat from a producer in Garrix that always seems to keep me on my toes in regards to what kind of style he will utilize next.

That's the beauty of electronic music. You're creating music through a computer which allows you to be essentially limitless in your style. You can experiment in deep house, trance, tropical house, dubstep, big room, really whatever you would like and it should be noted and respected how Garrix seamlessly jumps between these sub genres through his electronic playground.

This shouldn't just be a lesson to musicians or artists but also to people creating anything at all. Don't be confined to a genre, style or mindset. Create what you think sounds good and what you enjoy while not being afraid to try something different as it could lead to something special.

I'll admit, I was never a Garrix fan when he first burst on to the scene. I still hate "Animals", passionately (except for this remix, purely because it's mind melting). But the young man has grown on me as an artist and as a brand. After watching an episode of his show, "The Martin Garrix Show", you are immediately drawn to this eccentric and loveable individual that just seems to love what he is doing. He has this fire about him on stage that easily comes off as a part of the act but it really is who he is as an individual.

He's an individual that loves what he does and I can relate that.
